I had 13 photos I wanted to use so I scanned the <a href="https://www.mosaicmoments.com/patterns/" target="_blank">Mosaic Moments Pattern Gallery</a> & found <a href="https://www.mosaicmoments.com/patterns/?patternNumber=601" target="_blank">Pattern #601</a>. The left page followed the pattern but the right page was turned.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjnnbL8gY72IVV1OQE9fK8BT7loBhkOPYu5ttaaqgdWLnU6z16_OXpSMRvv42N5Qyleg11MqL3Zs2gUlqw1n20zguvpTLv4DtUDEcQ32ii9P7n04MJIiJhHBL4ph0t8SPNHoYqMWh6pm0hLjiOenakySnyPQUOHfs3GYXaYJhOdb8BrPBsYBaHDaMKq=s403" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="204" data-original-width="403" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjnnbL8gY72IVV1OQE9fK8BT7loBhkOPYu5ttaaqgdWLnU6z16_OXpSMRvv42N5Qyleg11MqL3Zs2gUlqw1n20zguvpTLv4DtUDEcQ32ii9P7n04MJIiJhHBL4ph0t8SPNHoYqMWh6pm0hLjiOenakySnyPQUOHfs3GYXaYJhOdb8BrPBsYBaHDaMKq=w520-h264" width="520" /></a></div><br />I decided to use "Board Shorts" from Mosaic Moments' <a href="https://www.snapncrop.com/Grid_Summer_12_Pack" target="_blank">Summer Grid Paper Collection</a>. I love the different colors & they were a good fit for my photos. I wanted to mat the photos but couldn't find the right color cardstock. I used white but it was so stark against the bright colors. I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-ink-pads?variantId=269" target="_blank">Broken China</a> & <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-ink-pads?variantId=506" target="_blank">Twisted Citron</a> ink. It's a little hard to see in the photo but it was just enough color. The title & journaling were printed using Word's Comic Sans MS font.<p></p><p>I love doing Mosaic Moments layouts because I can use a lot of photos so I'll be doing more using this system. I also have a lot of their dies so I'm hoping to use some of the specialty dies in my next layouts!</p><p>TFL!</p>Crooked Stamperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02827046627252196882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3129245834791507996.post-14719093149968088892021-12-19T08:36:00.002-05:002021-12-19T08:48:28.314-05:00'Tis the Season<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;">I love all the cute village dies & when I saw this tri-fold slim-line card using a Hero Art's die I knew it had to be one of my Christmas cards this year. The recipe card was for a swap I was in at our SCS Event. I used the Italian flag colors & was lucky my good friend, Diane had a retired Stampin' Up Stamp Wheel of a hoagie! I decided to use it for the background then color one with Copic markers, fussy cut it out & adhere over one on the background. I used Stampin' Up Garden Green, White & Real Red cardstock & Real Red Ink.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCKi0I6lDKtsWxLySCd2sQuIuGufBTusp3Zb3REJ85qjbhs9Bu1fdAX448_7Hhikl9IKSsjIPkvji1mMMAS2vWHc1VQwzVP3v9jxlUdwLZ1nS8tTTQXiRIFuPfSdp-hdgiuXJVtk84MmA/s747/Stamp+Swap+Recipe+Card.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="671" data-original-width="747" height="359" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCKi0I6lDKtsWxLySCd2sQuIuGufBTusp3Zb3REJ85qjbhs9Bu1fdAX448_7Hhikl9IKSsjIPkvji1mMMAS2vWHc1VQwzVP3v9jxlUdwLZ1nS8tTTQXiRIFuPfSdp-hdgiuXJVtk84MmA/w400-h359/Stamp+Swap+Recipe+Card.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p>TFL!</p>Crooked Stamperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02827046627252196882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3129245834791507996.post-91082903839395933522021-12-05T19:18:00.003-05:002021-12-05T19:18:59.449-05:00Disappearing Birthday!<p>This card was really fun to make! In a SCS Weekly Inkling, I saw a tutorial for the <a href="https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/disappearingninepatchcard/" target="_blank">Disappearing Nine Patch Card</a> by Betty Traciak. It came at the right time because I needed a couple of birthday cards for my friends, Lisa & Renee, who is a quilter.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg05B65kqnc7dILktMpDSOGJRLhX1QfhKhNP27RMdmS9VRDxJz2yXphKdvM7fOUhnDsLsIoFrSVAimbqStBvKaom-iAFHRPQ2w7P6lS7XY6LTOmT8lmIv1VjkuRBV9Fd6kIRC0PP9h3R4/s225/Lisa-Renee+Birthday.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="206" data-original-width="225" height="366" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg05B65kqnc7dILktMpDSOGJRLhX1QfhKhNP27RMdmS9VRDxJz2yXphKdvM7fOUhnDsLsIoFrSVAimbqStBvKaom-iAFHRPQ2w7P6lS7XY6LTOmT8lmIv1VjkuRBV9Fd6kIRC0PP9h3R4/w400-h366/Lisa-Renee+Birthday.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p></p>I didn't take any photos as I was doing the card but Betty's video is awesome. I used SU Raspberry Ripple & Very Vanilla cardstock, SU Birthday Basics DSP & CTMH Stitched Circles Embossing Folder. The sentiment is an Elizabeth Craft peel off sticker. <div><br /></div><div>A little fun fact...this was Lisa's card & her birthday is on the 6th. I was able to punch it out of the DSP & place it in the upper left corner!<br /><div><br /></div><div>TFL!!</div></div>Crooked Stamperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02827046627252196882noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3129245834791507996.post-57859137616709502802021-12-05T18:03:00.001-05:002021-12-05T22:03:18.021-05:00Never Ending Birthday Wishes<div class="separator"><span style="font-family: inherit;">I saw this technique on <a href="https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/" target="_blank">Splitcoaststampers</a> called <a href="https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/neverendingcard/" target="_blank">Never-Ending Card</a> by Lynn Mercurio. I thought it sounded interesting & I needed a cool birthday card for Tina, who is an amazing card maker. The first one I made didn't turn out so I had to watch the video frame by frame to figure out where I went wrong making my folds. You really need to watch Lynn's video to see this card in action. Not sure I'd make a 100 of them but I glad I mastered the technique!</span></div><div class="separator"><span style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-XWsl-ONUwKWx2M3wFMCjmADUofperLKvCpBjPW-02uM0WIz2csAm2KLCQmx1FqjAvdhg6Nm1cYHZAsmG2qx_noq7jFhUUvF_-ZGDIUj8UrLgiAVW0ipK6064UEU-L17VnxE1tgUsCZE/s938/Tina+BD+1.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="932" data-original-width="938" height="318" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-XWsl-ONUwKWx2M3wFMCjmADUofperLKvCpBjPW-02uM0WIz2csAm2KLCQmx1FqjAvdhg6Nm1cYHZAsmG2qx_noq7jFhUUvF_-ZGDIUj8UrLgiAVW0ipK6064UEU-L17VnxE1tgUsCZE/s320/Tina+BD+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div><span style="font-family: inherit;">I used SU Baja Breeze (I think) as the base & a couple of different coordinating SU DSPs. I had forgotten how much fun it was to do them. I mostly made kits except for one I did using a crossword puzzle theme & a couple of other that I cut by hand before there were dies! </p><p>The patterns I used called for basic sets A & B plus the 4x6 grid die for 1" squares. All of these sets are in the colorized <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/mosaic-moments-basic-bundles-die-sets" target="_blank">Mosaic Moments Basic Bundles Die Sets</a>. The 4x6 Grid Die cuts 24 1" squares but the nice part is they don't cut all the way so you don't lose the pattern whether you're cutting a photo or pattern paper. When you're ready to use the squares, you just need to snip a 1' square out. For those not familiar with Mosaic Moments, they have special cardstock with quide marks for placing the squares & rectangles. For this layout, I used MM Red Cardstock which I'm not crazy about for these photos but it does match the American Crafts DSP plus I had limited colors of the grid paper.</p><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBpoWjTjAhBwr-DfjJLq2vshLMnnnjbCvCEjP_i7ou2SOUeQlR01S5M3vqx2Va3K8OUyoTNpKX-gglLBXgTzMmPgztRzUGXt_W_4WCUdBWKL-rpWuzlIPWzUjyYLWggKb5y2df14H_ZyQ/s960/Concert+1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="489" data-original-width="960" height="204" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBpoWjTjAhBwr-DfjJLq2vshLMnnnjbCvCEjP_i7ou2SOUeQlR01S5M3vqx2Va3K8OUyoTNpKX-gglLBXgTzMmPgztRzUGXt_W_4WCUdBWKL-rpWuzlIPWzUjyYLWggKb5y2df14H_ZyQ/w400-h204/Concert+1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX4RZNCpPM9fljhWxdXb0X44iUmPUIz6OQdgxpA5KNZbyNdACLREz3TtM41FRl93R-AMPe5vYOlritkPsSkIoLGF77UXVhFQtqq0qqiAErVi3ApOALuoVgrAFdC46IiWM9h7420l7hUWs/s775/Concert+2.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="754" data-original-width="775" height="311" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX4RZNCpPM9fljhWxdXb0X44iUmPUIz6OQdgxpA5KNZbyNdACLREz3TtM41FRl93R-AMPe5vYOlritkPsSkIoLGF77UXVhFQtqq0qqiAErVi3ApOALuoVgrAFdC46IiWM9h7420l7hUWs/s320/Concert+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Pattern No. 580 - Mosaic Style. This pattern calls for 3 photos, Basic Die Set A & B with the 1" grid die. Because of the size of the ticket I used in lieu of a photo, I changed out Set A for Set D</div><div><br /></div><div>The top 4x6 photo followed the pattern & is placed on a mat cut by the die. Since the ticket was larger, I used Set D which add another row but I still had to cut it down. This also allowed me to add my journaling. For Aug 11th we were to scraplift Christy S so I decided to use her <a href="https://www.blogger.com/#">Pirate Party</a> layout.<div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD2WgmFNU1qwBVVQwcfUSJuprq1irxYWbPGtK-o1nW-Qhdkrv0a3nqDcpxj_7Mh2yB_q5z78oco7mOTkJvR0qLxb9p8xDM99RpD4d_D5G-XM7q8u70bG8nV-4e4tmcP7fbBGdG7kXg9H0/s872/2020+1st+Solo+Road+Trip+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="872" data-original-width="856" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD2WgmFNU1qwBVVQwcfUSJuprq1irxYWbPGtK-o1nW-Qhdkrv0a3nqDcpxj_7Mh2yB_q5z78oco7mOTkJvR0qLxb9p8xDM99RpD4d_D5G-XM7q8u70bG8nV-4e4tmcP7fbBGdG7kXg9H0/w314-h320/2020+1st+Solo+Road+Trip+2.jpg" width="314" /></a></div>I wanted to use some type of travel DSP & of course I didn't have anything with cars or a generic map. I finally settled on SU I Am Me DSP which has suitcases so it worked. Christy S. used a lot of different colored mats so I was lucky there are a lot of colors in this DSP. The base is SU Going Gray & the photos are matted in SU Real Red, So Saffron & Pool Party. I used a couple of embellishments from Jolee's Road Trip pack.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWaFIQVcO2Dg4My6xTply6RFPMAaUKW2TzA14ahB0_EvTQS8PrFxVaxamrO3B3drWOTsXvjEsRYZzsjQRyaSSBGV0VX5T0tIEG8in-iI148bQJuk2RHjAp4KgzyLF4J7-OE7l1xpmW8XQ/s923/2020+1st+Solo+Road+Trip+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="923" data-original-width="911" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWaFIQVcO2Dg4My6xTply6RFPMAaUKW2TzA14ahB0_EvTQS8PrFxVaxamrO3B3drWOTsXvjEsRYZzsjQRyaSSBGV0VX5T0tIEG8in-iI148bQJuk2RHjAp4KgzyLF4J7-OE7l1xpmW8XQ/s320/2020+1st+Solo+Road+Trip+3.jpg" width="316" /></a></div>The 2nd page used the same SU Going Gray base & coordinating DSP from SU I Am Me DSP. The first line of the title is Sticko Alpha Large Foam Black Letters & Jenni Bowlin Vintage Shadow Sticker Letters. The remainder of the title is from Jolee's Road Trip. There was a catus for the "I" in Trip so I replaced it with the keys that were in the pack. I think it worked out pretty well!<div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Here's what the 2 pages look like together! Every Wednesday we are to scraplift a layout for a specific person's in our group.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8S9srV0LzUrdqJT1HbK1mA4BsXAg6dvpeDgC69hwldgepRofMqqkPDGytQIgfdkHHtISGY8tDKl-Jz2TRavnWRhP2S0nf8cg3YI2YCWihiCQFw5LB6WtQW_htHjztlnTrE1Wsfr7Nqxs/s925/2018+School+photo.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="915" data-original-width="925" height="317" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8S9srV0LzUrdqJT1HbK1mA4BsXAg6dvpeDgC69hwldgepRofMqqkPDGytQIgfdkHHtISGY8tDKl-Jz2TRavnWRhP2S0nf8cg3YI2YCWihiCQFw5LB6WtQW_htHjztlnTrE1Wsfr7Nqxs/s320/2018+School+photo.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>For August 4th the person was PrincessP1971. I chose <a href="https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1595415?&cat=16180" target="_blank">DSC07280_by_princessp1971</a> from January 2010. But by the time I was done with it I felt I had sorta, kinda...not followed her layout so I decided to try another one. </p><p>The layout base is from the DCWV High School Paper Pack. I double matted the photo & the journal square, first in SU Gold Foil to pick up the gold in the DSP then in SU Basic Black to pick up the black in his shirt. The SU Brocade Blue journaling square also picks up the color in his shirt. The gold Queen & Co Goosebumps were used on the mat with black Sicko Large Foam Numbers which accented the the black & gold in the layout. The grouping in the lower left are from Tim Holtz Thrift Shop Ephemera & Small Talk Snarky Sticker which fits school pretty well.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiijUl7vIyIteOu1d2Eag4Qy7ZJdmUL1KwdZFdKd5JbrPZ_n_uKmEA8v61SQHpCiOUjf6nOrCrIavnZ4cEs7aunAcdh0cSKKWhFNM7IC_oRlHZAhCV5cPR6zBFIBcQwudVzE5Ka-58W1cY/s822/2018+School+1st+Day.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="821" data-original-width="822" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiijUl7vIyIteOu1d2Eag4Qy7ZJdmUL1KwdZFdKd5JbrPZ_n_uKmEA8v61SQHpCiOUjf6nOrCrIavnZ4cEs7aunAcdh0cSKKWhFNM7IC_oRlHZAhCV5cPR6zBFIBcQwudVzE5Ka-58W1cY/s320/2018+School+1st+Day.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>The 2nd layout I chose was <a href="https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2976174?&cat=500&ppuser=152821" target="_blank">Another library project</a> from March 2020. I feel I nailed this one. I have to do a little research before I can complete the journaling but I left space for it.</p><p>The base is SU Basic Black with a 12 x 9 piece of DCWV High School Paper Pack. I matted the photos the same as above with SU Gold Foil & Basic Black. The journaling area is SU Basic Black with a piece of the DCWV on the left edge. I'll probably print the journaling on SU Brocade Blue. I used Tim Holtz Number Brad 9, a Muse Token & an Adornments Arrow.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR0h7yC4uWFUN4s2JdvQI3oP0vXR1vHAJtaulIOy2sLVxC2SjYjKOTaWz5_WfFeCKROwOGqbCF8oKoaXLUNCTFE9FEucrcQhJwqX9KG_P5dASz0mHdMItufTC2cv8UFM5nVpAnZz4cYUU/s960/2018+School+.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="496" data-original-width="960" height="207" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR0h7yC4uWFUN4s2JdvQI3oP0vXR1vHAJtaulIOy2sLVxC2SjYjKOTaWz5_WfFeCKROwOGqbCF8oKoaXLUNCTFE9FEucrcQhJwqX9KG_P5dASz0mHdMItufTC2cv8UFM5nVpAnZz4cYUU/w400-h207/2018+School+.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>I used the same DSP & cardstock since they are both school photos taken close together in time. I almost think I'm going to reverse the layouts when they're placed in the album. I might trying using my <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/we-r-memory-keepers-fuse-tool" target="_blank">We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool</a> to section it off. Instead of matting the photos, they are trimmed with the remnants of the torn DSP.</div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKds1gewzTDfS3yg-_eJU7F0AVOnmR9RnTqu8MntZifYpCbEOXhqAfWlrXjEtdjEAGhHGm44NT2xW7A_IgNsIQT5tSbdNGxRYwrZmVCoe4CYGwjc2iY_v5xCGTf-fHhe3AHyUPFU8K0CM/s722/Trap+2019+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="232" data-original-width="722" height="129" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKds1gewzTDfS3yg-_eJU7F0AVOnmR9RnTqu8MntZifYpCbEOXhqAfWlrXjEtdjEAGhHGm44NT2xW7A_IgNsIQT5tSbdNGxRYwrZmVCoe4CYGwjc2iY_v5xCGTf-fHhe3AHyUPFU8K0CM/w400-h129/Trap+2019+2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>The photo above is with both Flip Flaps opened. The back of the left one has the back of the program adhered (I had several programs) with a few embellishments. The Flip Flap on the right has more photos. </div></div><div><br /></div><div>I learned a few things about using Flip Flaps. If I could do this over, I would have placed the back of the program at the top so it would appear it was the actual back of the program when the front was opened. On the right 12 X 12 layout I would have switched the photos so the scenes from the play were on the left & the encore was on the right. It was too much to take apart....well scrap & learn! Regardless I'm still very happy with the finished product. </div></div><div><br /></div><div>TFL!!</div>Crooked Stamperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02827046627252196882noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3129245834791507996.post-12478033748860026292021-08-04T06:55:00.000-04:002021-08-04T06:55:00.616-04:00Strawberries & Cream!<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9vjzynWxMaD3lpXGTlIBknhbYVZivdyR5741v4e6dXHIZZweYYtDfPTt1LHwXJZdXXMEXLE9xZR6iKDaVUtuYazZiZrjz6rGK3UL11sG1RosRIc-3nOh0o4jk_vJip89USFPh74VSAJ8/s866/219766553_1360820584313220_7599280608808565793_n.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="866" data-original-width="842" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9vjzynWxMaD3lpXGTlIBknhbYVZivdyR5741v4e6dXHIZZweYYtDfPTt1LHwXJZdXXMEXLE9xZR6iKDaVUtuYazZiZrjz6rGK3UL11sG1RosRIc-3nOh0o4jk_vJip89USFPh74VSAJ8/w389-h400/219766553_1360820584313220_7599280608808565793_n.jpg" width="389" /></a></div>This 6X6 recipe card was designed for <a href="https://www.facebook.com/thecraftshack.biz/" target="_blank">The Craft Shack's</a> 2nd Fast 'n Free Event. <p></p><p>The strawberry vine is Dare 2B Artzy's...wait for it....Strawberry Vine stamp & die sets. Sorry, I couldn't resist.</p><p>Lisa suggested using colored pencils for this project. It had been a long time since I'd used them & it made something old new again! The images were colored using <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/search/results?keyword=Derwent+Inktense+Pencils" target="_blank">Derwent Inktense Pencils</a>. This was quick & easy because I didn't need to color the entire images of the strawberries & leaves. I just scribbled the color around the edges of the strawberries & the veins of the leaves. The color on those images were smoothed & blended using <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/spectrum-noir-gamsol-blending-solution" target="_blank">Spectrum-noir Gamsol Blending Solution</a> with a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/pro-art-3-blending-paper-stumps" target="_blank">Pro-art 3 Blending Paper Stump</a>. I designed this recipe card for 1 of the 3 projects that were free to her customers. It was pretty simple & lots of fun making the grass & sky!!. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju4Zf_wLwGA3lCTuodxd2tSXup4NEEvVV0q8spjXp2jDhUBveEgUocA9U9e3yX34dnlZsBPCDg7qVyMRjpIhmetb7DR4PeU2xSAn2scmxWYlDwE01rK7WZKP0i-IfyPTCi2ZGIFPGIqM0/s1080/Recipe+Card+08+Aug.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1080" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju4Zf_wLwGA3lCTuodxd2tSXup4NEEvVV0q8spjXp2jDhUBveEgUocA9U9e3yX34dnlZsBPCDg7qVyMRjpIhmetb7DR4PeU2xSAn2scmxWYlDwE01rK7WZKP0i-IfyPTCi2ZGIFPGIqM0/w400-h400/Recipe+Card+08+Aug.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div>The recipe was printed on a piece of 8 1/2 X 11 white card stock then cut to 5 1/2 X 5 1/2.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk5dyloZCGmR6leTBN4KGWXc1FjJh0HCxX-WxEoycTovBGJNUqC2dUM9CHpttGQX0Rju8jNCTZYTnnJmZx3TUfGQHw91pmHX08sIqPe4OZZU1dzyIkjBgSxn2TU1FinU1hGkOO02Eue4w/s596/Recipe+Card+08+Aug+%25282%2529.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="430" data-original-width="596" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk5dyloZCGmR6leTBN4KGWXc1FjJh0HCxX-WxEoycTovBGJNUqC2dUM9CHpttGQX0Rju8jNCTZYTnnJmZx3TUfGQHw91pmHX08sIqPe4OZZU1dzyIkjBgSxn2TU1FinU1hGkOO02Eue4w/s320/Recipe+Card+08+Aug+%25282%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1GT7PiqG7rE2Y5GQR37hkLMFScRllGaeMAl02B_m63FASr6ZCra-xkUWNaoJBY68xIJ9_RxIbreSR6YxFJ6kR3DznqnmztpEAL8XAh6KdEWANK9Thif7YnKzT0v6216Sd_jsasF_6kds/s680/Recipe+Card+08+Aug+%25283%2529.jpg" style="clear: right; display: inline; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><br /></a></div><div>The <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/search/results?keyword=funny+farm" target="_blank">cow</a> was stamped on a small piece of white CS using a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-clear-embossing-dabber" target="_blank">clear embossing dabber</a> then heat embossed with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-distress-embossing-glaze-rusty-hinge" target="_blank">Rusty Hinge embossing glaze</a>. It's a very cool process! Using the Grassy Hillside Stencil (there are 3 stencils in the pack), I did the top row of grass first by applying <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-distress-oxide-ink-pads-twisted-citron" target="_blank">Twisted Citron Oxide Ink</a> then a little <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-distress-oxide-ink-pads?variantId=652" target="_blank">Peeled Paint Oxide Ink</a> with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/picket-fence-life-changes-brushes" target="_blank">blending brushes</a>. I then chose another grass stencil & did the bottom row.</div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZZydY3Jz_qlIPhVE5Bl-s41nJbRqJmdxscGyYXbamD6t2xlcM4jBXY_gnMYhMYp99C8dXzP76hvB81gUSCG167tmfUKP9ZvO8nYzCWgLDqeQ1S8aCdgVsmyXhs2Bo_0Lll6ooNJ_MgK4/s714/Recipe+Card+08+Aug+%25284%2529.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="522" data-original-width="714" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZZydY3Jz_qlIPhVE5Bl-s41nJbRqJmdxscGyYXbamD6t2xlcM4jBXY_gnMYhMYp99C8dXzP76hvB81gUSCG167tmfUKP9ZvO8nYzCWgLDqeQ1S8aCdgVsmyXhs2Bo_0Lll6ooNJ_MgK4/s320/Recipe+Card+08+Aug+%25284%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Again, following the directions in the video, the <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/lawn-fawn-lawn-clipping-cloudy-stencil" target="_blank">clouds</a> were done using <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-ink-pads?variantId=269" target="_blank">Broken China Ink</a> for the first 2 top rows then <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-ink-pads?variantId=258" target="_blank">Tumbled Glass Ink</a> the remaining clouds. I kept turning the stencil for each rows, working my way down the recipe card. When I got to the last row I used the grass mask to cover the grass & blended the final bit of tumbled glass.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>To finish up, the mask was removed from the cow (& kept to use another time) & then the oval was removed from the recipe card. This recipe was shared by our stamping friend, Karen at our annual stamping event. They were delicious!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR-j3WiY_bOVzntjsGSvou1zSMeuw2yCZ5NNlFeMe8VT2u3oL9dDTL0lc0CGFUPPmY6wS5t_ZRoJCDAeruJW8lwR6kS8E6wqegA5FrhhVXXZGTLkTdHHM-BrpyFpjTu5yLMXzI290CxZk/s1600/78220196_2535163813204053_508957352607612928_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR-j3WiY_bOVzntjsGSvou1zSMeuw2yCZ5NNlFeMe8VT2u3oL9dDTL0lc0CGFUPPmY6wS5t_ZRoJCDAeruJW8lwR6kS8E6wqegA5FrhhVXXZGTLkTdHHM-BrpyFpjTu5yLMXzI290CxZk/s400/78220196_2535163813204053_508957352607612928_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
It's pretty basic except for the "cinnamon buns" at the bottom. I wanted to place something on the recipe card that represented cinnamon buns so we used the <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-stampers-anonymous-shifter-peppermint-stencil" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Peppermint Shifter Stencil</a>. I mixed <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/ranger-texture-paste-opaque-matte" target="_blank">Ranger Texture Paste</a> with drops of Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Reinker then added cinnamon spice. I didn't measure anything but kept experimenting until I got the color I wanted & a consistency to spread over the stencil. We then sprinkled some chunky glitter like elements over it to represent the pecans. After letting it air dry, the edges of the strip were inked & popped up. And yes, you can smell the cinnamon...mission accomplished!!<br />
<br />
The 3 layer base is SU Kraft, Cherry Cobbler & a Maja Design DSP. The cook, from a retired My Favorite Things Stamps Set "What's Cooking", was colored with Copic markers, die cut with an oval, inked then popped up. The <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/colored-jute-twine?variantId=680" target="_blank">natural twine bow</a> was added with a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/glue-dots-mini-roll" target="_blank">glue dot</a>.<br />
<br />
We were happy how it turned out & the smell makes you hungry!!<br />

We were to write down a few suggestions or hints to help the Secret Santa select our gift. I drew my SIL Pam & the only hint she gave was she liked the color green. I was lucky to know that she recently purchased a painting with a sea turtle for her living room. I had stamped on a candle many years ago but recently discovered people were using battery operated candles. After watching several YouTube videos, I decided to make one for her.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Any brand of battery operated candle can be used, it just needs to have a waxy surface so it will slightly melt when heated. If there are batteries in the candle they should be removed before heating.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_fOd1QgImCOTOssh_6KoMquRC_O-c84g4FpKG6etwXZHKtbnEF1RFT72_TiQHoEhQZj7qXDI24HL53tzEniTTuA8HliedFhC41coqDNX__huy9JyUZ68amSJKAltbC2WWvK807jrsQWY/s1600/79718009_1082310982119076_8158588251913846784_n+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1133" data-original-width="1459" height="248" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_fOd1QgImCOTOssh_6KoMquRC_O-c84g4FpKG6etwXZHKtbnEF1RFT72_TiQHoEhQZj7qXDI24HL53tzEniTTuA8HliedFhC41coqDNX__huy9JyUZ68amSJKAltbC2WWvK807jrsQWY/s320/79718009_1082310982119076_8158588251913846784_n+%25282%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
White tissue paper was cut to fit the candle then the turtle from <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/designs-by-ryn-sea-creatures-1" target="_blank">Designs by Ryn Sea Creatures 1</a> was stamped in Memento Cocoa on the dull side. A paper mask for the turtle was placed on the tissue paper then several of the sea plants were stamped in Memento Potter's Clay & Bamboo Leaves. The turtle was colored using Copic YG61, YG63 & E44 then E21 for the sand at the bottom.<br />
<br />
The tissue paper was torn, leaving an edge around the image then centered on the candle with the shiny side against the candle. A piece of wax paper was cut wide enough to cover the image & long enough go around the candle with some left in the back to hold onto. The wax paper was placed over the stamped image smoothly & held tight. A heat tool was used on the image, leaving it just long enough to see the image change appearance. The wax paper was carefully removed, making sure the image was melted to the candle. If necessary it can be heated a little more. Using a finger, the tissue paper cam be smoothed out but be careful, it's may still be hot. If the candle is heated to long it may become bumpy.<br />
<br />
I tied a piece of twine around the bottom to finish it off. <br />
<br />
I was happy how it turned out for my first try! I decided to use a buffalo plaid since it's "in" this year and a shifter stencil because I hadn't played with them yet. I think they were both good choices! Sorry this one is a little crooked but it was the only one I had left!!<br />

The background was made by stamping a piece of 5 1/44 X 4' Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler CS in <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tsukineko-versafine?variantId=154" target="_blank">VersaFine Black Onyx Ink</a> with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/concord-9th-plaid-background-stamp" target="_blank">Concord & 9th's Plaid Background Stamp</a>.<br />

After laying the cherry cobbler CS over the inked stamp, it was covered it with piece of copy paper. I rolled a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/ranger-medium-brayer" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Brayer</a> over the copy paper instead of using my hand.<br />

I wanted to use one of the new shifter stencils & decided on the <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-stampers-anonymous-shifter-tree-stencil" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Tree Shifter Tree Stencil</a>. A tip Tim has for using the shifter stencils is to paint the back of the stencil with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-distress-paints?variantId=281" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Black Soot Paint</a>. The paint will fill in the laser cut outline of the image so you will be able to see where to line it up. REMEMBER to quickly wipes away the paint with a wet paper towel so just the laser lines are filled in. If you don't once the paint dries it will be permanent!<br />

I started by positioning Stampin' Up Crumb Cake CS under the stencil & taping it down to hold it in place. Using a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/ranger-ink-blending-tool" target="_blank">Ranger Blending Tool</a>, it was inked with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-ink-pads?variantId=201" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Twisted Citron Ink</a>. Using taping the stencil on the edge, I was able to raise it up to make sure it was completely inked.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The stencil was cleaned & dried before moving onto the next color. The 1st image on the CS was lined up under the painted laser lines. See how painting the lines helped? The next set of trees were inked with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-ink-pads?variantId=201" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Peeled Paint</a>.<br />

I decided to add "snow" using <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/ranger-dina-wakley-white-media-gesso" target="_blank">Dina Wakley White Gesso</a>. I put a little gesso on my media mat & <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-distress-sprayer" target="_blank">sprayed</a> it with water until it was a thin consistency. After placing the panel in <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-stampers-anonymous-splat-box" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Splat Box</a>, I used a brush to spatter the panel.<br />

I stamped "Tis the Season" from <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/stampendous-tis-the-season-stamp-set" target="_blank">Stampendous Tis the Season Stamp Set</a> at the top of the panel & added it to the plaid card front. I'm not sure where I got the reindeer charms but threaded jute string though the hole & wrapped the jute around the card front & secured it in the back with tape. It was then added to the Stampin' Up Crumb Cake card base using <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/products/view/id/1694" target="_blank">double sided tape</a>. I added a small matching bow over the reindeer with a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/glue-dots-mini-roll" target="_blank">glue dot</a>.<br />
<br />
I made 19 of these & it really didn't take very long. TFL!!<br />

Judy had the recipe & it was perfect for our October class & I made them as a treat for the class.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1532" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjEXooZLxy81FdXUUhtNTvKhJ5SASSGK_xXpyar2ssbwv5nO6dwOFB1stNeu76AvWKzecICXddQUwQlinI37eT5C_qzrgeAzjXrH1QUrylXH-yDcDm9ux1JcyPl0qYuOlJUtIbtZef038/s320/Recipe+Card+10+Oct+LouAnn.jpg" width="306" /></div>
<br />
Starting with SU Pumpkin Pie CS cut to 5 3/4" X 5 3/4, the <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-stampers-anonymous-webs-damask-stamp-set" target="_blank">spider web</a> was stamped with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-embossing-ink" target="_blank">embossing ink</a> then <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/wow-dual-speed-heat-tool-wzht-usa" target="_blank">heat embossed</a> with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/ranger-embossing-powder?variantId=939" target="_blank">silver sparkle enbossing powder</a>. The edges of the CS were distressed with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-ink-pads?variantId=201" target="_blank">black soot ink</a>. It was then adhered to black CS cut 6 X 6.<br />
<br />
Using a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-tonic-stamp-platform-tool" target="_blank">stamping platform tool</a>, the <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-stampers-anonymous-mini-halloween3-stamp-set" target="_blank">trick or treaters</a> were stamped with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/ranger-archival-ink?variantId=355" target="_blank">jet black archival ink</a>. Using a stamping platform is the only way to go because you can re-stamp it if you don't get a good image.<br />
<br />
The <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-sizzix-ghost-town-dies" target="_blank">tree & ghost house</a> were die cut from black CS. Lisa added several elements to the back of the ghost house including <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/dritz-cheesecloth" target="_blank">cheesecloth</a> & yellow CS in the windows plus purple CS for the front door with a black dot for the door knob! The smoke coming from the chimney was cut from <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/darice-coredinations-collection-vellum" target="_blank">vellum</a> then inked with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-ink-pads?variantId=202" target="_blank">hickory smoke</a> & adhered with a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/glue-dots-mini-roll" target="_blank">glue dot</a>. The ghost house was popped with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/scrapbook-adhesives-3d-foam-squares-black-25x25" target="_blank">dimensionals</a>. Two trees were stacked together & adhered using a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/zig-2-way-fine-point-glue-pen" target="_blank">fine point glue pen</a>.<br />
<br />
The recipe was torn then sponged around the edges with black soot & adhered to the pumpkin pie layer. The <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-stampers-anonymous-spooky-scribbles" target="_blank">spider</a> was stamped in black soot over the spider web & recipe. It needed a little sparkle so a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/elizabeth-craft-designs-starform-dot-stickers?variantId=563" target="_blank">red dot</a> was added to the spider.<br />
<br />
Below is a photo of the cupcakes & not only were they delicious but fun to make too!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLjQZFoKverphWRbN5rLzALCybRNjwBUb4vt1ACaETzU3xJO7ij1zDLKV-BKGfdo1J22q0rhZ3dqrM4X0i1cGVvFtTsa3d0VOhk6S8YyzEqq35Mrg8xLiSqAqIs32MH23gEQ60y_IxxGk/s1600/Recipe+Card+09.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="875" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLjQZFoKverphWRbN5rLzALCybRNjwBUb4vt1ACaETzU3xJO7ij1zDLKV-BKGfdo1J22q0rhZ3dqrM4X0i1cGVvFtTsa3d0VOhk6S8YyzEqq35Mrg8xLiSqAqIs32MH23gEQ60y_IxxGk/s400/Recipe+Card+09.jpg" width="363" /></a></div>
<br />
The 2 layers of Stampin' Up CS were cut Tempting Turquoise CS 6X6 & Whisper White CS 5 3/4 X 5 3/4.<br />
<br />
The background was made by randomly swiping <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-ranger-ink-pads?variantId=202" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Distress Cracked Pistachio Ink Pad</a> over the white CS. This gives the effect of swirling water. The underwater foliage from <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tim-holtz-stampers-anonymous-sea-life" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Sea Life</a> stamp set was randomly stamped in evergreen bough.<br />
<br />
Charlie Tuna & his trademark symbol came from the Internet. He was colored with Copic markers & fussy cut then popped up with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/scrapbook-adhesives-3d-foam-squares-white-mix" target="_blank">dimensionals</a>.<br />
<br />
A hole was punched in the matted recipe & an Eyelet Outlet Fish Hook was added then a line was drawn with a <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/sharpie-metallic-fine-point-permanent-marker" target="_blank">silver marker</a> for the fish line,<br />
<br />
It needed a little bling so I picked out some clear sequin from <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/neat-tangled-sequin-mix-mermaid-tail" target="_blank">Neat & Tangled Mermaid Tail Sequin Mix</a> to appear as the bubbles.<br />

It was a very simple recipe card using Stampin' Up retired DSP, Whisper White CS & Certainly Celery CS. The bling was a silver nail head I had in my stash. The Stamps by Judith's <a href="https://www.stampsbyjudith.com/node/2360" target="_blank">large colander</a> was stamped in <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/tsukineko-versamark-watermark-ink" target="_blank">Versamark</a> then heat embossed with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/wow-embossing-powder?variantId=298" target="_blank">clear embossing powder</a>. It was fussy cutt out then popped up with <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/scrapbook-adhesives-3d-foam-squares-white-mix" target="_blank">dimensionals</a>. I'm not sure where the tomatoes & zucchini stamps are from but they were stamped in <a href="https://www.thecraftshack.biz/memento-ink-tuxedo-black" target="_blank">Memento Tuxedo Black Ink</a> then colored with Copics R24, R27, YG23, YG63, YG67 then fussy cut out & adhered to the back of the colander before it was added to the card.<br />

I made 12 of them for a Christmas ornament swap at our annual shoebox event. The theme was Have A Holly Jolly Christmas so this die couldn't have been more perfect!<br />
