Layered words technique: It's amazing how many combinations of words you can come up with! I decided on "enjoy the" from Adventure Words & "magic of memories" from Holiday Words 2. I started with a #10 manila tags & inked it with frayed burlap. I arranged the block words on the tag, turning "of" sideways & taped them down before running the tag through the Big Shot. I don't have good luck with craft knives so I used my Fiskars trimmer to make the cuts above & below the block letters leaving 1/4" on each side. I distressed the edges & inked with walnut stain.
After sliding the stamped piece into place, I glued the watercolor paper to the tag. I stamped faux stitching in black soot across the top & bottom of the water color paper. I spattered ink over the entire tag by smushing Black Soot onto the craft mat & spritzing with water then dipping a splatter brush into the ink & tapping the brush handle over my hand. The film strip ribbon was a perfect embellishment & after I slid it under the words so it would show through the words (& you can also see the word "flash" through the filmstrip at the top) I used my tiny attacher to hold it in place. I had a small piece left over so I just tucked it in at the bottom & attached it the same way. I used my Tim Holtz Design Ruler to measure for the holes for the hex fasteners. If you've never used this ruler let me tell you it is AMAZING!! You can measurer 2 ways & center at the same time plus it has holes so you'll have perfect spacing for brads! Before I cut "enjoy the" from red kraft core cardstock I ran a small piece through Xyron Sticker Maker. This makes it easier for the small letters to adhere to the tag. I placed the words on the tag so they are on both surfaces. The tiny camera charm is hung from the letter "E" with a loop pin. The last embellishment is three colors, red, light blue & black, of jute string.
Well hope you enjoyed how I did my version of Tim's July tag!! TFL!!
