Many years ago, my sister (-in-law), Judy, Retired2stamp, invited me to a Stampin' Up Party. I was drawn to the 6X6 recipe card swap our local group was doing and had wanted to scrapbook too. I wasn't really interested in card making because I had witnessed my brother (in-law) Ed fold up a handmade card and put it in his pocket. I almost fainted and I didn't even make the card. But after a few parties, I was hooked and now make more cards than I had ever thought I would. My most recent passions are ATCs, tags & altered art. As you look through my blog I hope you can see how I've grown in my crafting ability!

Kimberly's Bridal Shower

This card was for my friend, Diane AKA Cookiestamper's daughter, Kimberly. She's having a fall wedding so her colors of orange and brown are very appropriate.  I heat embossed the wedding gown but wasn't happy with how the center of the gown came out.  I'm not sure if I didn't stamp it good enough or if it was the embossing powder but I did a couple of them and they all came out the same.  Of course I waited until the last minute so I ran out of time and had to go with what I had.  A group of the Giggler's attend so of course we had a good time.  I'm not a fan of games at showers but these were fun.  We used toilet paper and dressed Jeannette up as a bride.  I think it was Susan's beautiful rosette that gave us the edge to nab 2nd place.

Supplies:  Paper - SU Early Expresso, Tangerine Tango, Plumeria pattern; Stamps - Love & Laughter; Dies - Spellbinders Lacey Ovals; Ribbon - SU Early Expresso 3/8";  Enbossing - White.

  3. My only tips is to begin planning early, there were tons of problems running about in the final minute but it turned out terrific, it’s seriously worth planning in advance. We located a list of 99 scavenger hunt ideas and put the topics on the back of t-shirts which was the most wonderful evening! We found an excellent bridal shower checklist and created some custom post cards and t shirts created from this website:
