Many years ago, my sister (-in-law), Judy, Retired2stamp, invited me to a Stampin' Up Party. I was drawn to the 6X6 recipe card swap our local group was doing and had wanted to scrapbook too. I wasn't really interested in card making because I had witnessed my brother (in-law) Ed fold up a handmade card and put it in his pocket. I almost fainted and I didn't even make the card. But after a few parties, I was hooked and now make more cards than I had ever thought I would. My most recent passions are ATCs, tags & altered art. As you look through my blog I hope you can see how I've grown in my crafting ability!

Lively Little Critters

This is a punch art ATC (1 of 20) I did for the Gigglers as a thank you gift for attending my SU party.  I was inspired by a card on Splitcoast Stampers done by France MartinI though it would be fun to make a miniature version with a few changes.  I know bunnies don't have their borrows in trees but Iet's pretend!  I used Tim Holtz's Wood Grain embossing folder with a technique we had recently used at my SU party.  Using an ink pad, ink the inside back of the embossing folder (if your folder has sharp bumps like Dotted Swiss, ink a stamp block & run is over the folder or it may ruin the ink pad).  Then put the card stock in the embossing folder & run it through your machine.  I used Chocolate Chip ink & Close to Cocoa card stock.  This technique gave the wood grain some depth.   I then used a circle punch to make the "burrow".  The punched out circle is inked with Chocolate Chip to make the inside of the tree look darker & then placed behind the bunny.  The bunny is done with different size oval punches.  The white card stock is sponged with ColorBox Gray Whale & the pads of the bunny's feet are Pretty in Pink & sponged the same color.  The grass is a punch by Martha Stewart.  I used a screw head brad to attach the tag to the tree.  The tail is a 1/2" pom-pom attached with a glue dot & the toes are drawn with a marker.

Thanks for looking!

Trailing Flowers

It’s time for the NEPA Gigglers March birthday get together & we celebrated with Sheila, who is my DSIL & Sally, who is a good friend of ours.  I was inspired by a card on Pinterest but unfortunately I don’t know who to give credit to.  I used a different DSP, sentiment & also added punched leaves & fussy cut flowers from the DSP so they look like they are trailing from the lattice.  I used SU Pretty in Pink for the card (the darker rose color in the photo isn't part of the card) then cut a 5 1/4" X 4" piece of SU Whisper White for the card front.  I punched a 2 ¾ circle in the upper center of the card front.  The latticed is cut from SU Whisper White using the SU Sizzix Bigz Lattice Die.  I mounted the lattice to the back of the card front.  I found a small flower print in a pack of 6 ½ X 4 ½ paper pack from Sizzix Little Sizzles called Watercolors which is mounted behind the lattice.  The leaves were punched & then tucked behind the lattice then I added fussy cut flowers.  Of course I them added the card front to the Pretty in Pink card.  The sentiment was stamped, trimmed then the inverted corners were punched.  I matted it in Green galore using the same corner punch   The finishing touch was a small bow.  This card was very easy to make...give it a try!
Thanks for looking!!

Rakin' in the fun!

I have to give credit for this layout to Lisa, SCS Runs with Scissors (visit her blog at Runs with Scissors Lisa).  Also I can't take credit for the title. I found a neat website called The Perfect Title.  A few years ago, our SU demonstrator, Jeannette  Kinney along with Shannon, SCS Zowee organized an event which featured scrapbooking as the shoebox project.  We were each assigned a month or holiday.  Then we had to design a 2 page LO, have one completed as a sample & make up kits for everyone else.  By the end of the day, we all went home with completed projects...my kind of crafting!  Lisa did November so she used fall colors & leaves.  I'm sorry I can't give credit to the stamp companies because I'm not sure where she got the stamps.  I think the tree is from SU but not sure about the sentiment.

I love how Lisa used burlap & punched maple leaves on both pages.  As you can see in the left close up, she also used buttons tied with twine.  I have to say she did a lot of prep work for us!  I made 2 additions...on the left page I added matting to the journaling area because I'm not much on handwriting & a maple leaf brad.  On the right page, I didn't have a photo that would fit the vertical mat so I added a small piece of card stock with maple leaf brads then placed twine where the photo met the card stock.   I have to say this is a perfect LO for these photos!

Thanks for looking!!

Bowling Is Right Up Your Alley

I'm working on meeting my goal of 11 pages for Splitcoast Stamper's March 2013 Scrap Pages & Chatter.  I usually have a goal of 8 pages per month but I only did 5 in February so I'm trying to catch up.  Well enough whining.  I'm also trying to do layouts from 2013 & staying current instead of skipping around...Oh I'm whining again...sorry!  I had found this DSP, Classic Lanes by Reminisce, at AC More on the clearance rack last year.  I have to say it was perfect for these photos!  I double matted them & decided to turn the black mat on two of them on the right page. Not sure I really like it?  If case you noticed the shirt in one of the photos on the left page is a different color, it's because the photo was dark & I tried to lighten it up...made it look purple.  I need to learn how to use Photoshop!

The bowling ball & pins are EK Success Jolee Dimensional Stickers.  I tried to arrange them so it looks like they were hit by the ball & are falling over.  I didn't come up with the title myself but found it on a website called The Perfect Title.  There are some really cute ones & I put in in my favorites for future reference!  The title lettering is from the Cricut Cartridge Cutting Up.  I made them 1 3/4" which was a little big but I was finally able to range the title so I didn't have to cut them over.  I was going to shadow the letters but after I started cutting I noticed the style I had chosen, Holy Cow didn't have that feature but I think it shows up OK.

When I did my journaling I found a blank score sheet & cropped it so I had one line.  It's hard to see but I put it at the top & bottom of the journaling area.  I also put one of the Jolee pins on the right of the journaling area.
Thanks for looking!

Lost Tooth

This is a kit from ScrapbookFunAddicts & was designed by Terri Zaelit.  I bought it a few years ago from their booth at CKC.  It was a fun kit to put together & no, that's not patterned paper!  All those stars were put on individually but it wasn't as time consuming as it looks.  I've purchased alot of their kits & they're easy to put together!  I did make one change.  I only had 3 photos so I took one of the photo mats & made it a little smaller then put my journaling on it.  I also turned those photos a tad.

Here's a close up of the Tooth Fairy.  Isn't she cute?  And easy to assemble!  Per the instructions, I used a white gel pen & a fine black marker to do the outlining.  Her wings are vellum & the instructions were to use Color Box Chestnut Roan on the back of them.  I didn't think it would look good but it almost makes them look pink.  I'm glad I used that color!  She's popped up using dimensionals.
The tooth is actually a treasure box that you can put a tooth in.  The "window" of the tooth is a piece of acrylic.  There is an oval piece of card stock with a dimensional sticky strip around it & then put on the back of the tooth.  The tooth is then popped up.  I think the string is a cute touch!  Thanks for looking & I hope you enjoyed!

Mastering the Hammock

This is a two page layout from a Mosiac Moments class by Tami Potter's Wish in the Wind.  It's one of my favorite classes to take when I go to the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention with several of the other NEPA Gigglers.   Tami is a wonderful teacher & her husband, Kevin helps out too.   These pages will also count towards my Splitcoaststampers Scrapbook Goals for January & are the final two I needed to hit my Janary goal of eight pages.  Yay, I made it!!

On the left page, I printed the title in Word on SU Very Vanilla.  I was surprised how well the printer color matched the tan blocks.  The photos were taken in 2010 so again I printed the year in Word & cut them out on my trimmer.  Usually I punch out the numbers or letters but these blocks are 2X2 & (believe it or not) I don't have the right size punch.  The flower blocks were part of the kit & are lightly sponged.  I decided to add the buttons which aren't part of Tami's design but I used them on the right page too so this helps tie the pages together.

For the right page, my journaling was much smaller than the 4X4 bvlock so instead I cut it 4X2 & centered it on the block.  I then added the buttons (which aren't part of Tami's design) to fill in the blank space.  Thanks for looking!!

Silly Funny Faces

I purchased this one page layout from EZ Laser Designs at the CKC Convention in Valley Forge, PA a few years ago.  The laser cut letters are over white but I added an argyle DSP from a Creating Keepsakes' All in One Scrapbooking Kit behind them.  I think the colors match perfectly & make the letters pop.  The photo areas were laser cut too so the photos are mounted behind the white.  I didn't have a photo that fit the vertical opening so I added the argyle DSP below the photo for my journaling.  I placed a narrow ribbon between them to cover the edge.

For a coordinating page, I used a full piece of the argyle DSP.  The photos are matted on white to match the left page.  I was going to add another title but decided on a strip of white with a light blue strip on top with a ribbon  to tie into the the left page.  I also put a clear epoxy quote sticker  acked in blue on the strip.

Here are the two pages together.  This layout will be pages five & six towards my SCS January goal of 8 pages.  Only 2 more to go!!   Thanks for looking!!

Daddy's Birthday Dinner

I'm using this page for three Splitcoaststamper Challenges. Its Task 4 & the final for the January Digital Scrapbooking Progressive Challenge plus I decided to participate in the Scrapbook Variety Stamping Stampede.   It is also my 4th page of 8 for Scrapbook Goals January 2013.  To see how this page has progressed through January you can visit my gallery on SCS.  This is the 1st time I've done a Variety Challenge which was to use stamps on a page.  I decided to stamp the pennants, gifts above the journaling & one of the balloons.  I do all my journaling in Word so I just played around until I was able to fit it into the bottom of the diamond in the center of the page.

When I added the date I decided to put balloons over it.  The center balloon is stamped in SU Cherry Cobbler & they're all punched out.  Then I used 3D Crystal Effects on them to make them look shiny plus I popped them out.  Just love these challenges & I'm learning I can combine them by adding different elements.  Thanks for looking!!

Building The Fort

It's been awhile but I'm finally back scrapbooking.  This 2 page layout is for the January challenge
Splitcoaststampers DGSC095 Inspired by the Hobbit & for Splitcoaststampers Scrapbook Goals-January 2013 Scrap Pages.  I haven't seen the movie & probably won't but the challenge was to use white, two blues, brown & grey.  There was also a cheat sheet & link to the movie trailer but I figured I'd just go with the colors & wing it.  From what I read about the Hobbit I thought the photos from building Zach's fort would work plus it's 2 pages towards my January goal.    It was a sunny day in November so Zach's dad & uncle decided he should have a fort.  Well the pictures tell the story.  I found 2 sheets of paper in the SU DSP Well Worn that looked like wood so I used that as the background (there's the brown). There was also two sheet with different blue patterns but I think it was really the same color (that's 1 color of blue).  I decided to tear them but use them 2 different ways.  I also used screw head brads at the bottom of verticial strips.  From there I arranged the pictures by overlapping them & matted them in white.  The title is cut from my Cricut in grey.  I needed another blue so I added buttons which included another shade of blue.  So I had the white (matting), two blues (paper & button), brown (background paper) & grey (letters).  I also double matted the journaling with white & grey.  Challenge met!  I added SU twine & a couple of hammer brads too!   Thanks for looking!
