Many years ago, my sister (-in-law), Judy, Retired2stamp, invited me to a Stampin' Up Party. I was drawn to the 6X6 recipe card swap our local group was doing and had wanted to scrapbook too. I wasn't really interested in card making because I had witnessed my brother (in-law) Ed fold up a handmade card and put it in his pocket. I almost fainted and I didn't even make the card. But after a few parties, I was hooked and now make more cards than I had ever thought I would. My most recent passions are ATCs, tags & altered art. As you look through my blog I hope you can see how I've grown in my crafting ability!

Judy's Pop-up Birthday Card

This birthday card was for my sister (in-law) Judy.  Although the front isn't anything fantastic, I did have fun making the inside, which is below.  The balloons are colored with Copic Markers.  I do like to color but need to practice shading.

I saw a pop-up card on Splitcoast Stampers done by Heidi Baks AKA hlw966.  I'd never done one of these cards so I decided to follow a link Heidi had to LeeAnn Greff's Blog which gave specific directions.  The directions LeeAnn provided made the card look easy.  I did pretty good making the cuts and folds but I did have a little trouble with a wrinkle when I put it on the card front.  In the end I was happy with how it came out.  Practice makes perfect so I think I'll be making more of these!!

Supplies:  Paper - SU Cherry Cobbler, DPS Hand Drawn, White; Stamps - SU Not So Seriously, Unknown Balloons & sentiment on front.

  2. It was a fun card! It got me to thinking about some similar ones but I've never made the cake. Hoping I have time to make one soon.
